Jake started his higher education journey in the UK, achieving a First-Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance. This was followed by moving to Malta and securing a position at one of the Big Four accounting firms, where he worked for six years. He completed his Chartered Certified Accountants qualification (ACCA) and the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist qualification (ACAMS), while working at the firm full time. He worked in a dynamic environment, which allowed him to gain valuable experience in a variety of disciplines, from risk and compliance, to advising clients on compliance obligations and providing accounting services.
Having the exposure to various processes and systems has allowed Jake to identify areas of improvement and create innovative solutions. He is truly passionate about automating and streamlining processes and systems. Jake understands the importance of data quality and being able to offer a tailored service, which may require utilising existing processes or systems in the most efficient way or offering suggestions of potentially more efficient processes or systems.
In February 2024, he joined Grant Thornton Malta within the Business Process Solutions team, as an assistant manager. He is currently working on improving processes and establishing new processes to enhance the firm’s performance.
