Uyanga Gantulga, an executive at Grant Thornton’s Business Process Solutions team will be holding an informative session on members’ voluntary winding up where one can obtain extensive understanding of the basic dissolution procedures both from compliance and accounting perspectives. You will learn to analyse prevailing circumstances and conditions of a company and matters to take into consideration by the directors and members before a voluntary dissolution is resolved. The trainer will walk you through the compilation of initial liquidation documents such as internal approval records and notification forms filed with the Malta Business Registry and their purposes, as well as giving you a clear understanding of their implications. You will be given a brief on necessary dissolution steps carried out by liquidators in relation to ensuring good standing with the authorities and de-registrations from VAT and Private Employer number, and how to fill in and submit any deregistration request forms with the authorities.
The session will also be elaborating on solvency status of a company in liquidation, updating of accounting records and compilation of liquidation accounts, scheme of distribution and liquidator’s return. Last but not least, the trainer will delve into the final filing obligations and procedures in relation to members’ final meeting held for the approval of liquidation accounts, tax clearance certificate and Malta Business Registry striking off notice. You will be presented with specific forms and get a visual on all documents such as notices, requests, financial reports, and scheme of distribution which are prepared during and at closure of liquidation. The session will be interactive, and trainer will address any queries you may have on the subject.
